What does taking a leap of faith really look like?!
The thing that holds most people back on this spiritual success journey isn’t a lack of time or money or support or love…
It’s deeper subconscious fear that rises up, subtly and tells us not to do something.
An inspired idea hits.
We have a reaction to that idea.
If the idea is not in alignment with our deeper subconscious understanding of the world we go to great lengths to explain or ourselves exactly why we cannot do this thing…
We just don’t have the time and where will the money come from and how will we be supported?
So, I’m saying that our excuses were never the problem.
Our fear is.
Because how many times do we find a way to do something that we just really wanted to do…
Like how we can find the money for a holiday, but not for the coach we want to hire…
I mean, it’s the same amount of money. And you’ve got the same amount of time. And the level of support in your life is exactly the same too.
Why reject the coach but not the holiday?
Because that coach will challenge us to get beyond our excuses. The holiday will ensure we stay the same.
There’s nothing challenging about doing something that we’ve made sense of already.
The holiday is already acceptable to us.
But the coach may not make sense to our deeper subconscious fears… For example:
I don’t get to change, right? So why put in all the time. I’m not the type of person who becomes successful, so that’ll just be a waste of money. I don’t get to succeed because everyone is reliant on me. So, where will I get the support you need to grow MY business or follow MY dreams?
And our excuses go on and on and on.
Until one day we stop and we ask ourselves…
Well, what would my life look like if I followed this inspired idea?
And you begin a NEW dialogue…
And it looks a bit like this…
FAAARK! I HATE this idea. I’m feeling really messed up by this. This idea sucks… But I can see the point of it too. I mean I feel that it’s the right thing to do…. I’m. Just. So. Overwhelmed by what I’m being asked to do…. and you know what else, I’m really fucking angry that I HAVE to do this… Why isn’t everyone else challenged in their own lives like I am?! HUH?! WHY? Why me?! I mean, I KNOW it’s a good idea but I just can’t see a way that I can feel OK about this, I really can’t…
So many of us seem to have the mistaken impression that following inner, spiritual, inspired, loving, beautifully wild guidance is some kind of peaceful, deeply aware, awe-awakening, angels singing overhead kind of moment…
And we often feel that if it’s not all peaceful and lovey then it’s not the right thing to do.
All good insight challenges us. And it challenges us because it’s challenging our deeper subconscious fears about who we are, who we can be and why. We HAVE to get outside of those fears if we want to be more successful, or wealthier, OR happier!
The point of these inspired ideas is that they are taking us to NEW places – places that challenge our fears.
So we’ve got to shake shit up a bit! Rock the boat a bit. Stir stuff up a bit.
We’ve got to allow ourselves to be upset and angry because when we repress those emotions, we repress our awareness too.
When we repress anything we have to repress everything. We repress a bad feeling, we also repress those good feelings that turn us towards God’s insight and inspiration in our lives.
That’s the INSIGHT and AWARENESS that this idea is really what we’ve been waiting for… the very thing that WILL turn our lives around… the very idea that will cause us to be the person we know that we can be.
There’s no requirement that you be some saintly, ever loving being who spreads love everywhere. I mean… you will actually become that the more you follow that inspirational guidance as often as possible… 😉
But you’ve gotta start somewhere. And right now, if that guidance pisses you off and you just can’t find a way to move into a space of acceptance with it, then don’t.
BUT DO start a different dialogue:
- Who would I be if I followed this guidance?
- And how do I REALLY feel about it?!
From there, from that space of HONESTY, you can begin to understand the true power of insight, the real power within you and the rawness of this human life you’re leading.
THAT is the very thing that will cause the inner growth that you seek, as it becomes the physical evidence of the outer abundance you need.
A leap of faith, therefore, is sometimes a messy affair, full of real, raw emotion and ultimate fulfillment too…
Don’t be all good and saintly. Be REAL. Be YOU. Be BEAUTIFULLY WILD.
