Do you know why affirmations are used?
Do you know how they influence our minds?
Below I’m sharing 7 affirmations that you can use to make amazing decisions for yourself, your business, your finances, your relationships…
And then I’m sharing all the background info you need to understand about why and how they work – so you have the motivation to get into a daily practice!
Success doesn’t happen by itself, there are steps we need to take to create the inner space for outer results.
Here are the affirmations:
I make the best possible decisions all the time.
My decisions always lead me in the right direction.
I allow myself to move in the right direction for the most amazing life possible.
My decisions always lead me to success.
My decisions always lead me to happiness.
My decisions always lead me to the most fulfilled version of myself.
I’m always aware of the choices available to me, and I make the right choice for the betterment of myself and all around me.
Why do we need to use affirmations?
Most of us carry around a lot of old baggage – emotions, thoughts, feelings, insecurities – that leads us to a sense of not being enough, or not good enough for the things we want to attain in life.
Most of us are unaware of the depth of those thoughts and how they mess with our actions and the results we’re getting in our lives and businesses.
That is the thoughts that cause us to make bad decisions, which sabotage our relationships, finances or any other part of life, sit in the subconscious.
We are not consciously trying to block all the good things we want to create for ourselves. But we are relying on old information that isn’t leading us in the right direction.
This old subconscious information is telling us that same old story that we act upon without really knowing it…
We think that because we tried and failed before we shouldn’t try again.
And so we don’t try again…
We feel we don’t have the choices or opportunities that other people have.
Therefore we don’t see the amazing opportunities in front of us and therefore don’t act on them.
We think we can’t succeed like others can because our mother/ex/boss didn’t treat us with respect.
So we actively engage with and accept people into our lives who aren’t respectful, instead of seeking out people who bring us a deeper connection and allow us to feel good about ourselves.
How affirmations work:
How many times do we have to hear, or repeat, a negative message before it becomes something we act out? Whether it’s leading to positive or negative outcomes.
When we first hear something that doesn’t really resonate we can reject it. But repeated enough in the right circumstances, eg by people we trust, our subconscious accepts it.
This is especially when we’re kids, before our conscious faculty and ability to question information is developed. The message is just absorbed into the subconscious mind where it creates feelings, which create our actions, which create our results.
Most of us, as adults, are still carrying around a lot of those old messages we received as kids. Have you ever said to yourself that you’re turning into your mother/father?! This is why!
The same thing occurs with thoughts that cause us to feel more motivated, pro-active, inspired, guided, loved, supported… Repeated enough in the right circumstances, they are absorbed by the subconscious and become the force behind our feelings, actions, and results.
So affirmations have a very specific purpose of influencing our subconscious with the RIGHT information that will cause us to act on the outcomes we want.
They’re not just ‘positive thinking’ they are influencing the way we move through our day, how we see ourselves, the actions we take, and therefore the outcomes we create.
Use the affirmations above by repeating them to yourself at a few different intervals throughout your day.
You can create an audio recording of them on your phone to listen to if you find that easier.
You can also write them out each day if that works for you.
You can use one or all of them. It really doesn’t matter.
And, feel free to make up your own.
One last note:
Your mind WILL talk back. It will tell you that you can’t make the right decisions, you’re not good enough, it won’t work!
All those old thoughts that have been subconsciously sabotaging you will start to become really obvious. You’ll begin to hear what you’ve really been saying to yourself subconsciously.
That’s ok. Don’t fight it. It’s all just coming up to the surface so you can let go.
But don’t listen to it either!
Just keep on repeating the message to yourself, no matter what your mind is throwing back at you. Because your job is to impress the new message onto your subconscious mind.
That is… your subconscious will simply ACCEPT what it is being told and will begin to act upon it. It cannot reject or deny. It absorbs the messages repeated often enough. And that will open the door for you to see those new opportunities that are always there for you to build a new level of success in your life.
