I have a lot of conversations with people who they tell me that they need a large sum of money immediately.
They need the money to get bills paid, to move, to get rid of debt. And, more broadly, to feel capable of turning their lives in a new direction.
But it’s not turning up.
And it won’t.
Not until they have they’ve tapped that powerful, attractive, creative force available to all of us that causes us to see new ideas, action them, and therefore, get new results in our lives.
So, here are the 3 things you need to think if you want to turn yourself into a money magnet:
1. You don’t have more than you have
Wishing and hoping that more money will turn up in your life is a useless waste of time and energy. It doesn’t just magically appear. You provide a service, or do a job, and receive money in return. No amount of praying or meditating will change that.
Wishing, hoping and talking about needing more money tends to ensure you feel helpless, stressed and unworthy. Because in that passive space you are not taking charge of action steps that could bring in more money. You’re just living in “la la land” (to use a spiritually, technical term)!
So, you’ve got to get real about what’s coming into your life right now. How much money do you make? What do your monthly bills amount to? And how much debt do you have?
Write it down. If it’s confronting… good! To paraphrase Tony Robbins: You don’t change anything you aren’t confronted by.
2. It’s up to you to create the new source of income
Now that you know the truth, your job is to take the steps necessary to fix it.
Obviously you can limit your spending if that’s what will help. But I’m more inclined to get my clients to tune into their own inner voice, or intuition, and ask how to make more.
Nine times out of 10 they have an idea that inspires them. And actioning that idea empowers them.
I’ve had clients get ideas to sell clothes they don’t wear, to sell tools they don’t use, to start a dog walking service, and to offer paid house sitting.
Sometimes it’s a long-term idea, like self-publishing that book they wrote, setting up a website for the brilliant business idea they have, or going after that higher paying job they want.
All of the ideas available to you are ideas that need to be actioned by you. You’ve got to do something to generate the extra money.
3. It’s up to you to create the mindset necessary to receive the money
Of course, there are a million reasons you can conjure up about why these ideas are a waste of time and won’t work.
But when you look more deeply at these you tend to see that your reasons aren’t true, they are just resistance.
You have a story, and while it might feel true to you, it’s worthwhile noting that all suffering is created by our thoughts about our situation, not by the truth of our situation.
Without your story you don’t suffer, you take action on the idea and get the results you seek.
So, ask yourself this question: what would stop me from achieving the financial success I want?
Trust whatever rises up. Write it down.
Then, ask yourself this: Do I need help in unraveling this? And if so who can help me move beyond this limitation?
There are a million resources online to help you. And there are writers, coaches, therapists, healers all over the world who can help you.
Your job is to create the space necessary to receive the lifestyle that you want by choosing it. You choose it when you take the action steps necessary to get there. You take the action steps necessary when you are in the right frame of mind.
If you need help getting into the right frame of mind, go looking for it. Nothing is stopping your financial freedom, other than the story that you tell yourself about why you can’t have it…
